Voice Work

Singing and sounding make us come alive, they spark an inner fire and a connection with something greater than the self.  As voices find each other in song it weaves strong threads of connection, supporting mental wellbeing and a feeling of being part of something. It calls us back home to ourselves.

I hold regular Singing Mamas groups, a Wild Voice women's singing circle, and day long singing workshops exploring the playfulness and potential of the human voice in Stroud and Gloucestershire. Acknowledging that not everyone feels ready or called to sing with other voices, I also offer 1:1 vocal sessions supporting you to find and unlock your voice. I’m available to hire offering singing workshops for public and private events.

My approach

My workshops are rooted in play & curiosity, exploring the range of sounds and rhythms it's possible to make with the voice and body; from singing to vocal & body percussion. I often draw on playful vocal improvisation games as I find they help to unblock creativity and self expression. I have explored the voice from a range of different angles including Collaborative Vocal Improvisation, Música do Círculo, Voice Movement Therapy and Singing Mamas through training and ongoing practice, all of which inspire and inform my work with the voice.

Singing Group Info

Singing Mamas is a grassroots movement building community through song for all who identify as women and particularly new mums who experience a higher risk of mental health challenges. We sing simple, beautiful songs learnt by ear and then have a chat over tea and cake. Passionately, I believe and have witnessed the power of singing together as a tool for healing and community building.

Sing, Move, Play is a project exploring embodied song, vocal improvisation games, and body percussion techniques and will be starting up in May 2025. These are workshops inspired by my time in Brazil with Musica do Circulo and will draw on their methodology and practice of welcoming the whole living, breathing body into the process of making music and forging connections between people.
