This is an informal singing group for women of ALL ages, stages and life phases (with their little ones if wished) to build community, connect through song and improve mental health.
The little ones have a sound bath in the center whilst women unwind, learn songs and then drink tea and eat cake afterward!
All songs are learned by ear.

Bark Baskets
Bark is a wonderful material to weave with, the process of peeling it deeply satisfying and dries with a leather like quality.
On this 1 day course, we will explore how to harvest, prepare and weave with a range of different barks found in local woods and hedgerows such as willow, elm and spruce. You will have a go harvesting some bark and then make a bark basket with a rim, and handles if you wish. You will leave with your completed basket and the skills to make another.
Suitable for beginners
If you have a sharp pair of scissors do bring them along

Sensory Herb Workshop Summer
Take a deep dive into the native plant medicines and energies of each of our four seasons with herbalists and nature-based facilitators Jessie Martelhof and Amy Cox.
Learn about the native herbal medicines which grow during each season, and how to make a range of herbal remedies from them in this mainly outdoors-based, nature-connected experience of herbalism .
As well as Herbal remedy making we will also offer some mindful and creative nature-based activities to allow us to drop even more deeply into the plants and the landscape.
We will share a cooked lunch together and gather around a cosy bonfire in the cooler months.

Summer Basketry: Round Baskets
Learn the ancient craft of basket weaving during this one-day workshop at The Community Farm organic farm.
Come and join me in the cosy roundhouse at The Community Farm to learn the ancient craft of basket weaving. During this one-day workshop you'll learn to weave your own round basket with locally grown willow in a range of colours.
This course is suitable for complete beginners.

Willow Foraging Bag with a strap 2 days
Learn the ancient craft of basket weaving during this two-day workshop. Come and join Amy Cox, and learn to weave a willow foraging bag with a strap, perfect for harvesting the abundance of fruit in our hedgerows!
You will learn a range of weaving techniques including how to make a catalan base, how to pair, wale, rand, and attach a strap. You will also learn about material preparation & selection and about some of the materials you can forage and harvest for yourself. Most importantly, you’ll have your very own handmade basket to take away at the end of the weekend. We will use locally grown willow in a range of colours, and foraged fibers such as bark and rush.
If there's time, we’ll end by taking the baskets for a forage and learning about some of the wild food and medicines in the hedgerows.
Previous experience of basketry or being practical/ crafty is an advantage for this course.
If you have a sharp pair of secateurs do bring them along

We will weave around a fire in the woods at Days Cottage and will go ahead come rain or shine (we have a beautiful A frame structure to shelter under)
Nb, basket making can be hard on the hands so not suitable for those with painful joints
Practical information
Please dress prepared for cold, wet weather as you never know what weather we will be met with!

Willow Frame Foraging Basket Weaving
Learn the ancient craft of basket weaving during this one-day workshop on our organic farm.
Come and join us in our cosy roundhouse at The Community Farm to learn the ancient craft of basket weaving. During this one-day workshop you'll learn to weave your own foraging basket with locally grown willow in a range of colours.
This course is suitable for complete beginners.
Please note that this event is not suitable for children or people suffering with arthritic hands.

Rush Basketry
On this course we will be working with English rush, (Schoenoplectus lacustris) a beautifully soft material to weave with. We will learn some ancient techniques of cordage, plaiting and how to make a small rush foraging bag/ handbag with a strap. You will learn how to prepare and weave with rush and other foraged fibers such as carex and dandelion. You will leave with a finished pouch and the skills to make another.
Round Willow Basket Making
Come and learn the ancient craft of basket weaving!
During this one-day workshop you'll learn to weave your own small round basket suitable as a fruit bowl/ bread basket with locally grown willow in a range of colours. If there's time you will be able to add a simple handle to your basket. You will leave with a basket and the skills to know how to make another one at home.
This course is suitable for complete beginners.
